ACCCRN and Diponegoro University are collaborating to bring the concept of inclusive urban climate change resilience to its campus. It is interesting to see how this concept can be applied to urban planning, especially form the perspective of those who will be the occupants of a city in the future. It is also possible to assume that the planning will also consider another value such as interconnectivity with related areas (beyond a city’s boundary).

ACCCRN members sharing experiences at the ICRD 2016, Semarang Indonesia

The 3rd International Conference on Regional Development (ICRD) “Enhancing Resilience: Bridging Knowledge and Policy for Cities and Regions” was successfully held on 9 – 11th November 2016 in Semarang, Indonesia. The conference was hosted by Initiatives for Regional Development and Environmental Management (IRDEM) in cooperation with the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Diponegoro University.


ACCCRN Network Members 1st Meeting in Jakarta: An Opportunity for Collaboration

Being held right after we celebrated the Eid-ul Fitr, this event was the first offline networking meeting of our Indonesian members and we also took the opportunity to carry out the Halalbihalal1 ritual. Having worked closely with the Indonesia Climate Alliance (ICA), we also took this opportunity to introduce the ICA as a national network platform for low-carbon and climate-resilience Indonesia.

Visiting flood early warning system (FEWS) and dengue fever prevention programs

At the end of the day, the participants of ACCCRN Learning Forum joined the site visit to the Semarang ACCCRN Programs. One group went to visit the Flood Early Warning System (FEWS) project in Wonosari Sub-district. The other group went to the program called Actions Changing The Incidence Vector Borne Endemic Disease (ACTIVE) for dengue fever prevention.


ACCCRN Learning Forum concludes with sights firmly set on the future of resilience

During this third and final day of the forum both speakers and participants focused on prospective thinking. On one hand the forum looked at how ACCCRN as a network will develop, as well as how it might shape or influence other Rockefeller Foundation work; on the other, representatives of younger Rockefeller Foundation efforts shared updates and emerging insights.
