Inclusive discussion for Study of Banjir Kanal Timur Design Plan in Semarang

On 13 April 2017, students of Urban and Regional Planning Department, Diponegoro University invited several stakeholder groups to join a Focus Group Discussion being held in their campus building. Representatives from Semarang City Government, District and Sub-district officials, neighborhood leaders, and community groups were invited to the discussion. The idea was for the students to share the findings and initial design concept with the forum and receive inputs or feedback from the participants.

The Department of Environmental Architecture of BNCA (Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Architecture) in India runs a 2 year full time masters course in Environmental Architecture. During this course, the 2nd semester focus for the design studio is Environmental Planning with Climate Change Resilient Cities as the area of focus. Jaipur, a city in Rajasthan, India, is the study area where they look at climate change scenarios for 2050 in the urban city limits.


Students of Diponegoro University think resilience when designing sustainable riverfront settlement

For the second time, ACCCRN and Diponegoro University are collaborating through the ACCCRN Youth Program. In this semester, the 3rd year students of Urban and Regional Planning Department are taking a studio class for urban design and development with focuses on waterfront settlement in Semarang City. ACCCRN is once again trying to promote inclusiveness and resilience thinking within the planning process.
