This presentation highlights the major findings from research conducted with the aim of analyzing the potential for integration between spatial planning and climate risk assessment to develop better planning processes. The study concludes that climate risk assessments (CRA) can be integrated into three stages of urban planning process: data collection, data processing analysis and planning formulation. Based on a pilot study in Blitar city, the CRA was able to improve the quality of urban spatial planning in: i) Purpose, policy and spatial planning strategy; ii) Spatial planning structure; iii) Spatial planning pattern and iv) Strategic city area.
