Semarang is one of ACCCRN's pilot cities in Indonesia which has made a commitment towards climate change adaptation since 2009. Vulnerability assessment and city resilience strategies were developed in 2010 and several actions have been conducted. Several of them have been finished including a feasibility sudy for expanding rainwater harvesting system, and a flood early warning system project. There are also on-going projects such as mangrove ecosystem service development incorporating alternative livelihoods and actions to lower the incidence of vector borne endemic disease.
