The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Laos is currently inviting civil society groups such as CBOs, local NGOs or NPAs, academia, mass organization for its Global Environment Facility Small grants Programme (GEF SGP) to provide grants, facilitate partnerships and support networks of stakeholders that are strengthening national capacities to address global environmental problems and promote sustainable development.

The programme is rooted in the belief that global environment is best addressed if local people are involved and there are direct community benefits and ownership.

The Global Environment Facility as such the grant making for disbursement is based on the three pillars in the order of the priority for instance environmental aspect, livelihood aspect and empowerment aspect to local community of the interactional integration approach to address one of these strategic initiatives:

  • Community landscape / seascape conservation
  • Climate smart innovative agro-ecology
  • Low carbon energy access co-benefits
  • Local to global chemical management coalitions
  • Eligibility Criteria

Civil society groups such as CBOs, local NGOs or NPAs, academia, mass organization and foundation that are in the strategic focal areas to apply for the grants.
