Organization: Climate Action Network (CAN)
Position: Special Projects Director
Duty Station: Flexible
Deadline for Application: 8 September 2017
Term: Full time until 31 January 2018, with the strong possibility of extension

Requirements:

• Knowledge of CAN and its work, strong adherence to its vision, mission and values;
• Experience in coordinating a network and delivering successfully interventions in diverse multi-stakeholder coalitions;
• Knowledge of various international political negotiations around climate change and prior experience with the UNFCCC; knowledge of working on SDGs is desirable;
• Knowledge of working on low carbon development strategies or long-term plans, particularly in developing countries is desirable;
• Excellent analytical and outstanding facilitation skills required;
• Extensive experience in co-developing strategies with actors from different sectors, or with a wide set of organizational cultures and priorities;
• Ability to engage with a global membership base and working with people from different cultural backgrounds;
• Excellent English writing skills, experience in editorial tasks is an asset;
• Ability to prioritize and manage diverse tasks while meeting deadlines;
• Self-reliant, self-disciplined and able to work in a global team;
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, and of various tools enabling good virtual project management and team coordination;
• Excellent written and spoken English; additional UN languages are considered an asset;
• At least 7 years of relevant professional experience, with experience in senior positions and/or advisory positions to senior executives;
• University Degree or equivalent qualifications.
